About Bernadette:

I have been teaching since 1965. I have taught Kindergarten through Eighth (8th) Grades in both public and parochial schools. I spent four (4) years as a Teaching Assistant in the College of Education at michigan State University from 1978-1982.

I began my own Private, Alternative School in 1990 in Downers Grove, illinois. The purpose of this school was to provide children with emotional and/or learning issues with a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and positive educational environment. The school was called The PowerThink Academy and our motto was: There Is No Substitute For Excellence. You Are Free To Excel! The school closed in June, 2011 when my husband and I chose to move to Las Vegas.

I Love Teaching! I used to tutor after school for all of the years I had my own school. I have been blessed with a talent to help students of all ages succeed by bringing out the very best of who they are. Everyone Can Learn! I believe this and have proven it true for over 45 years as an educator.

My teaching approach is Always Positive. My belief that every student can learn permeates every lesson I teach. I will find a way to reach every student and help him/her learn and be and do their best.

I have also tutored many adults who were preparing for professional exams. I also have experience and capability to teach via Skype and Messenger Live if you prefer online tutoring.
