position Summary: 




The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information. They will work in a lead position with other Programmers and Programmer/Analysts to complete projects as well as mentor other Programmers and Programmer/Analysts to build their skills and work related knowledge and abilities.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures




Essential Functions:




Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Company-wide culture and demonstrating company standards at all times.
Establish and communicate programming standards and best practices.
Coordinate work breakdowns and programming efforts within and across teams.
Interview users and assist in determining architecture and application requirements.
Analyze and clarify requirements.
Make project estimates for effort and time.
Produce, maintain, and use development metrics in order to improve capacity and quality.
Assist in the establishment of development policy and practices and enforce the same.
Develop efficient work flows with Project Management and QA.
Identify needed skills and maintain training and certification standards.
Direct and mentor other developers in designing and implementing technical solutions.





Minimum Qualifications:




Degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering and 5 years work experience. A combination of college coursework and work experience may be applied toward the education requirement.
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
Ability to work as part of a team and provide support in a timely fashion.
Extensive experience in writing program code using VB.Net, ASP.NET and/or C# on a Windows platform is preferred. However, significant work experience in other well known development environments such as C++ , J2EE on Linux/Unix platforms may be considered.
Prior supervisory experience.
Must be able to memorialize requirements, designs and other technical information so that key information can be efficiently shared among team members and external development partners.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Visio.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Understanding of architectural design patterns for enterprise applications.
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Understand the impact and tradeoffs when designing or coding OLTP and data warehouse applications.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks and manage incidents and/or crisis situations
Available to provide 24-hour support and work a variety of hours to include evenings and weekends.
