| VISTA members will help to implement the new Hope for Youth (HFY) program, a culturally competent, community based alternative to secure detention and further criminal behavior. Youth will be assigned a Case Manager and will go before a volunteer Community Accountability Board (CAB) that will "hear" the case, make service recommendations and assign the youth community service hours. VISTA members will be instrumental in supporting the CAB process by recruiting volunteers for the CAB, notifying youth and families of CAB hearings, recruiting community service sites, following up with sites to monitor youth participation, and communicating frequently with Case Managers.
